When you look at a pic in the camera and hit "info" doesn't that show you the clicks?

I picked up my 20D when they dropped the price when the 30D came out. Still clicking away strong.

I think that only works if the setting is not set to restart the pic count at "0" after everytime you turn the camera off. That is how mine was set up when I piced it up off of CL.

How can you check the shutter count? The person that owned my 20D before me had the pic count start back at zero every time.

only Canon can do that for you - the 20D flicks back to 0 every 10K on the image numbering - don't worry about the shutter count, if the camera is in good condition forget about it and start taking photographs :)

Oh it is still in good condition, I was just curious. I love the camera better than any point and shoot that I have ever used. It's funny because I used my friends point and shoot for her over the weekend and couldn't remember how to use it, it has been a while since I used one.

I got a 40D yesterday along with a Canon 85mm.
Now, I need to sell either. Which one?
I love 'em both already...

Just sold my 20D almost a month ago. It was in excellent condition and seemed to work perfectly but you never know about the shutter until it's too late. That, plus the 20D's small rear LCD
(too difficult for my ageing eyes to see), plus the lure of spot metering were what tempted me to buy a 30D.

Sure, the 30D's only a 20D with refinements, but they're important refinements to me.

I'm still using a 20D. Actually, I'm looking to buy a 2nd one.

Same here. I love my 20d and will only get rid of it when it is broken. I am thinking of picking up another one to keep with a different lens mounted.

I use my 20D often. Like some other commenters I am thinking about picking up a spare. Some say the LCD is to small, however, I use it primarily to view the histogram anyway.

When I'm not doing time lapse I've basically given the 20D to my wife so she can practice more with her own camera. She's getting better.

I just got a 20d recently for $455 on ebay with a grip, eye extender, 2 batteries, bag, EFS 17-85 mm USM, and lens hood. I'm on a really tight budget but at the same time, I wanted something decent for photographing sports and events at university and possibly save up for better lenses. I had it for 2 weeks and I really love it so far.
