Greetings:
I have a new SD1400 IS that I bought from BJ's Wholesale. It was the last one in the store and the display model. Saved a decent amount of $$ buying it. One of the keys points that helped make my decision is that they never put the battery in it so it was never turned on and messed with. Well when I got it home I noticed that the rubber thumb grip pad on the battery compartment drawer was missing. A trip back to the store came up empty on the thumb pad search. What's the best way to get a replacement thumb pad for this camera. Broken eBay 1400's are in most cases too expensive for a replacement battery door. Any hints to this new Canon owner would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Marc

I bought a used SX1IS and needed a lens hood and remote.

Called the number above and they transferred me
to the parts department and the stuff got here in
just 2 days. Online the hood was $15. From them
it was $5. The remote was under $10.

I'd rate that as great service.

I also was missing the rubber thumb grip. I called the support number and was told Canon does not stock parts for this camera. If a camera is sent in for repair, it is replaced. I guess the only solution would be to find a damaged one for parts.
