Anybody heard from Continental lately? Last word I received was about June 30th ship date? Just curious if anyone else has called or received a postcard stating something different.

I had to give up on this one guys, could not hold off. Got a refurb with tax & shipping for $2060. Buying a Mack warranty to cover it for 3 years for $55, total $2115.

Should be here by end of the week!

Still a great deal as far as I am concerned. After selling the lens the new 5D costs under$ 1750

If the 5D2 were sold through CLP, then this would be a so-so deal. Even then, this is a brand new body with a 1 year warranty.

Not sure how you get $1750, see below and correct me where I am wrong?

I bought the refurb 5D2 from Canon with a 3-year Mack warranty for $2100 (found a better warranty price than my post above).

This one (with Continental), brand new with lens, is $3004.81. Sell the lens for ~$950 (what I see them going for here) and assume PayPal gift to avoid fees...shipping will cost as least $25 with insurance so you net $925 for the lens. That means you have $2080 invested in the brand new, 1-year warranty camera.

Again, mine was $2100 for refurb, 3-year warranty. I don't have to wait weeks and weeks on it and keep calling to make sure it is still coming.

Choose the deal that is right for you.

I ordered the kit at the OLD price of $2790.65, inc shipping and my location I do not have to pay any sales tax and I can get $1000 to $1050 for the 24-105 f4 which is around the current price on eBay and Craigslist. Leaves me with a total of $1790.65 on the high side to about $1750 if I get my full asking price.

Agreed though, if I bought at the new price and had to pay tax then your deal is every bit as good as any out there.

Aaaaaah, makes sense!

Old price = great deal

New price = think about the options

Spoke with Amanda today from Brainstorm. I ordered the 5dmk2 with 24-105L lens back on 5/24. She indicated a shipment from Canon was enroute and due at their facility on 6/30.

However, she also mentioned the shipment from Canon may not have enough to fulfill my order as there are still a large number of orders ahead of mine. So I could be waiting until sometime in July before receiving my camera :(

Thanks for the update. Hopefully they'll have enough to get through 100 orders.
