These are so awesome. Take pic and instantly uploaded to your PC via wireless router. I have not plugged my camera into my PC in months.

They sound fun to toy around with but unless your studio shooting, what would be the purpose?

I picked up one of these 3 months ago. So far so good. Geotagging is a neat feature to have. Also the ability to upload from your camera and use your phone as a relay to upload center.eye.fi is neat.

Another bonus is center.eye.fi. Not only will it allow you to sync your eyefi card pictures, but it will perform the same function for your smart phones. Basically, you don't have to sync your phone to get pictures to your computer.

The card is only a Class 6, so for the price its a really expensive class 6 sd card. As for the transfer rate, its ok. It takes about 20 seconds to negotiate the initial wifi connection and 5 seconds (depending on what you are shooting jpgs and raws) to upload the pictures to your computer (assuming they are on the LAN). Taking a burst of shots and you'll need a few minutes to play catch up. It definitely not real time capturing, but near real (<2 minutes delay) time is good enough for my needs.

Quick and easy way to get your photos into an iPad2 for immediate display without add-on adapters and cables?

Then just treat it as a regular memory card to load into your computer later at home for processing and storage.
