Yes, all 4-5 lenses ;-)a Are they all shipping ?

 basically I imagine I want to spend my life with 1DsMKII+24L+85L+200L, so I guess, if I was in this situation to choose Leica, I wouldn't be lost with S2+35/2.5+70/2.5+180/3.5 ... maybe missing 3200iso, but is it really worth to shot at 3200 ? ...

An interesting review from last year ...

Looks like it is missing ISO 800 also. It really depends what you may miss or what you expect. I would be buying this for all the detail it can render amongst other things. To have to use NR and reduce detail seems to be counterproductive, at least to me.

I need to have good ISO3200, you may not. There isn't one camera that does everything so I am not knocking the Leica at all. I'd love to have one, for the time I would be shooting at lower ISO's and things that do not stress the AF too much or lend themselves to MF.

Bohdan - I may be, and probably am, completely wrong.

Have you thought about trying out some Leica lenses on your Canon bodies? I love the combo.

I've thought of selling some of my lesser used gear to start an M9 fund. I really enjoy using my rangefinder but I haven't the time or space to develop myself and the only lab(s) locally are CVS, Walgreens and such. The only proper lab is just shy of an hour away and that's without traffic.

I just wish someone else would jump(back) into the game and market/support/service it without having to sent it to Japan(are you listening Epson?). Even though the turnaround is still much shorter than sending it to Solms from what I've read over at RFF.

Not only crazy, really nuts - sorry.
You spend lots of $ for an almost complete collection of L-lenses and after that you want to sell everything for an overpriced Leica? Seems to me, that you are more hunting for gear than for pictures. And now? You already bought every fine glass and you can't get more satisfaction from buying more canon gear? If that's what you want - sell your stuff and buy a Leica.

Instead you could go out and taking pictures! You have everything you need and much more.

Cheers
flop

PS: in April 2011 you had 6 L-lenses, now (June) you got 20. Are you doing something else than buying gear?

Your "PS" is sort of telling, is it not? I need "update" my equipment list... from my lowly G12 to something more exotic and expensive.... <sarcasm dripping>

...im planning to sell all my canon gears and move onto either leica s2 or m9, I got tons of canon L lens and dslr, and really planing to list all my L lenses on ebay, to get my hands on one of these badboy, any suggestion weather I should pull the trigger or not, any leica owner out there, that's more satisfy over leica then canon?

The S2 and the M9 are vastly different cameras/systems. Both can be excellent if they suit your needs. On the other hand, one or both may end up being inferior for what you shoot.

Right now it sounds like you are just chasing gear...in this case gear that has the Leica dot. How would you expect either of these systems to improve your photography? If you had the answer to that question I would think you would have already narrowed in on either the S2 or the M9 instead of just having this general idea of selling a pile of Canon gear to get something made by Leica.

I heard that they make a great walk around camera than the S2...

I agree with this. For a lot less money, I would get the H4D-40. :)

Plus one. I've seen a lot of photogs buy high end gear bcoz' they beleive they can make better images. To my knowledge, the OP has never shown his work and leads me to believe he only has a nice gear list. ;)

Personally, if I were you, I'd hire some Canon engineers to build you a custom camera made out of unobtanium.

Yes, I agree, you are crazy.

Look, if you look at any of the SLR systems Leica has brought out they have been dismal failures, and I include the S2. Leica is, and has always been, a rangefinder company. Yes their optics are beautiful, but the gear you have now is also.

A rangefinder, even a digital one is a completely different kettle of fish than a DSLR. You may find that you do not even like them. With the cost of Leica gear, that would be a disaster for anyone. I suggest you rent one with a couple of lenses for a week or so and give them a test drive. (You may need a mortgage just for that!)

Lastly, you may be looking at M9 because of it's light weight compared to a FF DSLR. If so, there are much less expensive ways to accomplish this, and you may not have to sell anything to do so.

Go to your local Camera Shop Pro and get some advice and take some test drives. If you still are sold on an S2 or an M9, then bless you.

Regards,

JD
