Side note: How are you liking the Ektar 100? I couldn't get along with it too well, I wanted to like it though...

yea...now all the new stuffs can only be supported by the 1v. Like the extender III, it stated specifically only 1v can take it, no other film bodies can. I've no idea why canon put in something inside the 1v like a decade ago, I guess that is where our money goes back then.

Seems the prices have gone up on the 1v. Got mine from KEH last year for less.

did you get the grip? took me a little do'n but I finally was able to find a couple of batteries for it so I don't have to use double AA's....sucker'll shoot FAST with the grip & batteries....guess that's why they called the 1v with grip "HS" (high speed)

For a heck of a lot of cash .

For me and what I shoot, something that will just improve handling is not worth that much. Unless I can find a used EOS 3 for a good price, I'll still with my Elan for now.

B&H has several 1n's which are almost as good as a 1v for purty cheap...

I like my 1N personally. I tracked down the BP-E1 grip instead of the PB-E1 motor drive (still have it though) and it handles wonderfully. I also found a split-screen focusing screen for it (EC-B) and it makes using my Zeiss lenses incredibly easy.
