Sounds good Tony.

Always remember. When its winter in your part of the world its summer for someone else ;) So if we get enough people from all over contributing we could have a good flow year round :)

Seeing as my bike is 3,000 miles away, I, unfortunately won't be contributing much, unless I borrow my BIL's bike from time to time :D

Ah! We need a link to the thread here and a PM sent to all those who contributed. We should lock this thread. This way we dont split up the participants and create fragmentation :)

OK guys, I got it started:

https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1060180

Now, grab your cameras and bikes and get going and contribute some photos:)!

I'll post a link to the thread in the intro to this thread. And, who volunteers to PM folks? Lets also post some links in the "normal" chat threads here!

As to locking this thread, well, let's keep it open for a while for any chit-chat that isn't photo sharing, then either we can just let it die or have a mod lock it. I'll start posting my "adventures" there instead of here to not get things mixed up:)!

Very cool! I've posted on a couple threads, but I haven't caught up on the 2AM thread yet -- feel free to stir up the pot there!

Yes, it's easy to forget and fall the first times after having switched to real shoes.

But in the end, the problem is small. The amount of force needed to release can be adjusted, and for SPD pedals there are two versions of the cleats to use on the shoes that have different release behaviour.

In the end, if you have good technique, you can have the settings very loose without problem - just twist the back of the foot and you are free.

The shoes makes a great difference.

My favourite have for many years been the Shimano SH-M110. If needed, you can walk 10 miles in them without problems or run in them (in terrain - too little damping to run in on asphalt).

So I have normally been using PD-M959 and the older PD-M747 pedals on both MTB and racer.

Totally agree! The effectiveness of using clip in shoes is tremendous in riding. You don't worry about slip or traction on the pedal. You can concentrate on riding fluid.

I have an old school huffy just like yours, Tony. I still keep it maintained and ride it sometimes when I visit my mom. I think it was a silver gray color when I first received it (as a teenager...), but I had stripped and repainted it a metallic green and upgraded forks and handlebars when it was a couple of years old. Pretty much the same bike as yours though. Thanks for the memory trip! I rode that bike hard back in the day.
