Anybody use an Acratech Long Lens Head with a Sidekick. Appears to be strong enough.

Input would be appreciated.

Why would you want to do this? It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. You could either use the Sidekick with a ball head, or use the Long Lens Head by itself. I suppose you could use both at the same time, but I don't see the point.

I think this might explain things.

I don't need two heads, and there is no reason that I can think of why I can't use the Acratech LLH for both. After the simple modification, the LLH is smoother that most of the ballheads I owned.

I guess I had the same reaction as others. You didn't actually mention that you had the 2 items in question. Also, you didn't mention how or why you'd be using the combo. Your question lead me to believe that you were thinking about buying them and wanted to know if they'd work. My reaction was this guy should save his money.

Guess I was a little impatient with Lars over at FM. It just seems that when you post anything over there, instead of answers, you get these long winded criticisms.

Guess I should have explained things better.
