Alexandra and I hooked up to add some shots to her portfolio. We exchanged idea's and came up with this look we both wanted for her. We went for that contrasty, shadowy look.

She was awsome to work with - very experienced model. She's been featured in Vogue & on ANTM along with various on-line magazines. Cool chick.

Shot in my tight studio, Single strobe set up. Einstein + 36" Octabox w/ Grid or 36" Stripbox w/ Grid.

These are awesome dude. Great work. I'm a huge fan of 1 light w/ high contrast. I do find #4 is a bit distracting at the top with the tangency of her hair with the frame of the image.

All of these are outstanding. I really love 1. but her hair in her eye bugs me, would have loved to see all of her face with that pose. But I'm sure that was intentional. Great work.

Great work ma man! Love the single light. Usually I would be using a fill with a reflector. What is your camera settings?

Thanks Lenin :) I've been exploring singe lighting a lot recently... kinda Zack Arias "OneLight" approach. I have anothers set coming up with a mode Scarlett I'll be post up soon, same thing - all one light.

I explored using fill during this shoot with my 43" white/silver collapsable reflector (used white side) - but I really liked the super contrast look, especially the B/W on her standing (used a strip box there). The reflector filled shadows a bit which was cool, but also added a rim light look to her left arm which I wasn't a fan of. Next go around I'll try different placements. It tough because my studio is stuper tight - 10x10 so I kinda have to deal with what I'm given.

Camera settings - I think I was shooting at F11 this entire series. F11, 1/160ss and ISO 100 - Einstein triggered by Pocketwizards.
