Not sure if anyone has posted this yet, but here is a great video showing the plant rebuilding and back on production from the quake. It says they did a "test run" day before going back to production but I still cringe at getting the first few they made after going back to work. They're only human and their minds were out of the game a bit is what I mean, no disrespect to them.

I'm not surprised to see there's strong interest in the X100 on here :)

I'm planning to buy one later this month.

I could take a lot of photos in that time ;) Plus a 35mm lens is all I need for walkaround shooting.

Just picked up a 35mm 1.4 and am starting to ask myself why? Why not just use this bad boy ad lug it around with me all the time. This is exactly what I want.

I had the same thought back when I was pondering selling nearly my entire lens lineup for a 35L. But the extra stop of light and the extra 3 stops of DoF control are pretty good arguments for the 35L, not to mention the fact that I'd have more luck finding $1/gal gas than a regular-price X100. (Also, I clearly didn't wind up selling my whole lens lineup!)

An interchangeable lens model would definitely make me weigh my options...but for now, I'll just wait a couple of years for X100s to be $500 or so on the used market.

I would really like to just use one for a week and see what I thought. I really like the idea of a quiet, small, simple 35mm street camera that takes great pictures that I could take everywhere. I picked up a LX3 years ago hoping it could do that and the controls were funky and it was too small and I did love the macro pictures but that was it.

You have to hand it to Fuji for making a camera that is very close to what many people have been looking for for years. Almost all of the reviews that I have found say the images are worth the quirks. I just hope that I can set it up to be simple because I don't like dealing with menus. I think a camera like this will help me get better at seeing ambient light because I could always have it with me. Kind of like a fun training tool, well that is how I am trying to justify the expense.
