I was extremely bored today and REALLY wanted to shoot something cool. Of course just as I packed up my gear, it started raining. I sat and waited a while on facebook and another forum, where I got a suggestion to just slap the 50 1.8 on and go for a walk around my block. I weaved around the back streets near my house and tried to get some inspiration. I actually really enjoyed it, I just strolled along looking for anomalies!

Here are the results (favourite 5 anyway):

Arty in a nice sort of way but they need a little post processing to add a bit of punch - nothing too complicated, just contrast or levels.

Thanks David. Funnily enough that is my editing - I quite like the muted, washed out tones. Possibly not right for this set, but my thoughts are that the softer tones lend to what I was shooting. :)

Thanks.

That's great then Michael - I'm all for people stamping their own styles on their images and I sometimes favour softer pictures although, in this case we'll need to differ in taste.

All I need to do at the moment is discover how to create a space between posted images. I've read the instructions in Forum Talk but am still baffled!

PS: I eventually found the paper clip icon and did it - Hoorah :D

David :)

It is amusing. As I was walking along, I was trying to piece together what the events prior to the current view were. For example:

the glass - was the car/bus/truck stolen, was it broken into, what was stolen, why hasn't it been cleaned.

the drawers - I noticed the middle drawer was on the ground, as though someone had come along and pulled it open, hoping to find something.

the coloured iron - the person on the green side seems a little duller than the person on the red.

Haha I only just saw this now.

Thanks mate, absolutely - I never expect people to always like my stuff. I like the critique aspect, thanks for providing what yu would do with the images to. :)

It is honestly amazing what you drive past every day and pass off as mundane, but when you get close and personal it is very inspiring.

Yeah I have a huge soft spot for flare and muted tones, call me indie - I don't care!

Thanks mate. :)
