Another one with the 2x TC. It's almost a 100% crop but it was a real privilege just to see one of these magnificent creatures. The photo was a bonus.

Very nice! Where was this taken? I see you have a 24-105 and a 24-70. Please tell me which you prefer and why.

Cheers,

Leon

Any pointers anyone on using this lens? Many times, it doesn't want to focus for me? I can turn the "focus" ring some- then hit the shutter button and it will focus, but not until I turn the focus ring. (I'm in the AF mode, BTW) Just seems I miss many shots because it don't want to focus....
Thanks for any advice..

Thanks... When it works it's a hit, but I'm having a bit of trouble getting the number of keepers I should with this lens. Don't know if it's just my first time with a big heavy lens like this or whether my 40D autofocus doesn't particular like it very much

I'm in the same boat you are in. Not that many keepers, I have a T2i..

Have you checked the focus limiter switch is set to the full range (1.2m to infinity)?l

Yes, I have set it at both settings, and it does that. Am I supposed to be able to leave it at 1.2 and do OK?
