I totally hear you. I agree, I good deal on a lens is really like borrowing it. I've sold 7 lenses in the last six months and maybe only spent 50 buck after it was all done. Buying and re-selling is better than renting! I am waiting the the 5D II as well....

The difference is that you won't find this stuff as cheap on Black Friday. Each one of these 10%-15% sales (does not happen often) is basically a Canon Black Friday.

Lol, look at my gear list--with most of those "retired" lenses I almost always ended up banking money for the privilege of renting a lens for a month or two until I got bored of it Used lens prices can be all across the board. With new and refurb prices, Canon gear is usually the same no matter which retailer you look at.

I was only keeping an eye on a couple of items, and the 100L was one of them (though this is the second time it's come back and I came here to post it instead of pulling the trigger... )

EDIT: 100-400 is back too!

It won't let me add the 100-400mm to the cart. It doesn't seem to be a killer deal either for that lens.

yup. If it goes through, I'll test it at the very least. At the moment I can't imagine anything being good enough to convince me to relinquish my 70200 II... but if it's as decent as the reviews say it is, for $1200 less...

the 5d II came in stock for a second.. did anyone manage to get it??

It was in stock for few min but when I tried to add to cart, it says not enough inventory. It's out of stock again now.
