Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L USM on 5Dmk2

Thinking of buying this lens today, need some opinions from people who use this lens on their 5Dmk2, please state some pros and cons, thanks

I have this combo and love it, but loved this lens on the 40D and 300D before it as well. I actually prefer the range on the FF compared to crop. I don't have any problems with the combo. It is an affordable lens, great image quality and is light compared to the f/2.8 versions of the lens.

haha. I HATE waiting for new stuff. And it always seems to arrive the day after I had several days off in a row. Which means it sits in the bag for a week or two before I can play with it.

I bought mine from a guy that lives two hours away, i seriously considered driving to pick it up...

I cant believe how small it is! I have only seen the 2.8 in my local shop. Its longer than my 24-105 but it is so thin and the white makes it look so foreign on my 5d2.

I can tell I will need to upgrade to the IS version at some point. Very hard to control the shake at 200mm...

I use it on my 5D II also, pics come out great. Sharp lens.

a 70-200 f/4 IS has been my most used lens on my 5D2 (that may switch to the 70-300L now though)
it is sharp edge to edge, it does very well on FF
fantastic really

the non-IS might not be quite as sharp, but I think it is supposed to be quite good all the same.

ok i just ordered this lens from B&H, and i will mount it on the tri-pod, so i wont get as much shake, one more question, it being a F4 lens, how does it work with the mark 2 high iso when used indoor?

Mark II handle ISO pretty well, the farthest I go is to ISO 1600, and reduce the noise at LR3, that way you could have almost noise free image. LR3 rocks!
But when needed ISO 3200 is quite acceptable as well.

All I can say is, I use this lens on my 1D MKII with and without a 1.4 convertor, 1st class results.

I'm taking mine to the ferry building farmers market this morning in SF. kind of dark inside the ferry building so this is going to be a good test of my handholding abilities and the 5d2's high iso...
