Some shots at a poolparty (outside at night) all wide open f1.4:

I often shoot at F2.0 because I was afraid at f1.4 I didn't got enough dof, but I tried a few times f1.4 and they are really sharp. Of course the people are not really moving a lot.

As much as I hate to admit it, I find myself doing the same. I find myself in more situatiosn where the extra light from shooting primes is overrun by the fact that the DOF is too shallow so I end up stopping down anyways. I have been thinking about selling the Sigma 85 and forgetting about the 85L in favor of picking up another 70-200 f/4L IS or even a 2.8 mkii as I will be setting up my studio in the next month where working with an 85 might not be the best option and I won't be shooting a lot between f/1.4 and f/2 in studio either.

Congrats, it's a great overall setup. I found myself dreading the dual prime setup during the wedding though. Space was a huge factor where 135L was too long and the 85 was too short. I had the 35L on one body all day and switched between the 85 and 135 and just never felt 100% comfortable on the long end of things. The 35L was perfect on the wide end though.

I use the 35L and 70-200MKII for outdoor portrait shoots (1 5DMKII body) and I love the combo. My second body is a 50D and the 70-200 is too long for my liking on that body so for weddings I use the 5DMKII and 24-70 and 50D 70-200. As soon as I can afford to have 2 5DMKII bodies I will try the 35 and 70-200 combo at weddings.

I don't mean to be rude but where is the focus, and why?

The focus is where the couple was sitting, watching the sunrise after a long party night, before the shot.
It's part of the story... I like the picture.

Thanks!

I think the focus dude just wanted to know about that particular shot.. based on his low post count, I assume he's new here, and new to DSLRs (and pros in general)

at least he didn't say it sucks ;-)a

Welcome to the club! I love the Sig85
I had the Sig50 prior to going FF - I never liked 50mm on my 40D and 7D... but now I'm thinking about giving it another shot!

If only Sigma would make a FF Sig30 (or new Sig35)

I like the shot as well. I probably wouldn't think to focus the shot that way, but it works really well.
