River Otters at the Viera Wetlands

I came upon a River Otter family today at the Viera Wetlands and took some family portraits.....

That first shot is terrific. I have tried to get some shots here but the sunlight on wet fur always makes a glare. You did great!

Those are great! Love to watch these guys, but have never seen them in Florida. (I've GOT to get to Viera soon!)

I was within 30' of them. It's odd, sometimes you can walk right up to them, other times they run off if you are within 100 yards of them.

They are everywhere in Florida, both fresh and saltwater. In most areas they are very timid and avoid contact with people. Because of the number of vehicles and people visiting the Viera Wetlands, the Otters have become more accustomed to seeing people so you can get much closer to then at that location.
