Price Police Question...Sort Of in Reverse

Can someone explain to me the Marketplace reasoning behind not allowing buyers to "Price Police" but giving Sellers and others free reign to Co-Sign any way they want to?

What I can not understand is how it is any different at all when someone adds an opinion about how "Great" a price is on an item listed for sale? This seems to me to be EXACTLY like the buyer whining that a price is too high.

Often the prices are close to retail and it makes one wonder why anyone would make such an off handed and confusing comment?

I feel like in general the prices for used gear here seem high but I understand and appreciate not being able to undermine specific sale attempts but the reverse policing puts an unfair burden on the buyer to try to "Deal" with the seller.

All things being equal,I can not see why this is allowed.

Anyone?

Ed

Posts like" Nice Price"; "Shouldn't last long at that price"; "Best deal I've seen yet";
"Somebody jump on this great deal" are all forbidden price comments and fall under price policing.

Thats exactly what I was wondering.
It seems an unfair tactic for sure and I just see a lot more of that than the "its too high"comments.

Thanks for clearing that up.....now about the PP Gift thing?

Ed

PayPal rules are not our concern.

So positive and negative, basically any comment on price. I was not aware of that. Good to know!

I know I would pay a premium for a used item from this forum rather than getting something cheaper on an auction site or classified site... I almost feel like I know almost everyone here... that's worth something...

I do see a lot of "shouldn't last long at that price" comments, but I don't think they are intentionally trying to be underhanded, but I do see how someone might look at that comment, and think "I better buy it quick"...

like with anything you buy, buyer beware, and always research your prices...

I agree they are likely not being underhanded but the effect is the same.
If there is a no price comment rule then that is exactly what it should mean.

I routinely see items priced in what I think is a crazy pattern of inflated value and then someone will chime in about it being such a great deal?
No good comes from that unless it is for the seller or a future seller.
At least not that I can see.
