The 5D MKII sensor does help retain the IQ. I use mine also when i can get close enough to the subjects with the extenders.

Thanks Ron, no MF, AF!!! ;) I use my C1 setting for video, but for some reason when I enter liveview it will let me move the white box over the subject and AF, then I quickly switch back to M or AV and shoot. But If I am in M,AV,TV and I go into liveview it will not let me AF on the subject with the 2x TC, something about that C1 setting that allows it to AF. Go figure, but it works and I like it on still subjects. :D

Is it really wrong that I'm getting serious lens envy looking at these photos, I like my 100-400, but these shots blow me away, trying to find a decent priced second hand one in the UK without much luck at the moment :-( . . .
