This is the only lens I really regretted selling. I'm glad to have her back. :)

I don't use mine and I'd hate to not have it.

Almost sold it to go for the sigma and get some cash back. So glad I didn't go for the Sigma... I can't stand the colors on the new Sigma 85

can you elaborate more about the sigma's color?
btw, i have canon 85L mark I, which i really like. it is slow, but nails the focus.
i had a chance to have sigma 50, but sold it due the erratic af, even i already sent it to sigma once. i'm afraid i will have similar experience with sigma, so i decided to stick with my already great 85L.

I've tested two Sigma 85mm copies and both had odd orange cast, which is supposedly common for Sigma (not my 30mm though) I look at samples on the web and see a lot of weird unnatural colors for the Sigma 85mm. The price tag is very tempting, the lens is sharp, but color rendition is a big sacrifice for me. I'd have been fine to replace my L with a Canon 85mm 1.8 but my complaint with it is the harsher bokeh. I guess Sigma really did make something that was in the middle somehow. Some people rag on the Sigma 85mm's bad AF but I didn't have any trouble with the copies I tried.

your post made me feel better with my 85L :)

I agree I don't like the colors of the Sigma either. The 85L is the most magical lens I've ever used.

Bought this lens early this year, never thought about selling it ever.

One of the best lenses I've ever used.
