I found one at the local camera store here where I live for $250 is that a fair price for it? I need a good zoom in this range, cuz right now all I have is the 50mm f/1.8..

I think that's a fair price. I paid about $225 at a local camera store here in Washington.

Open the box and see if the lens suffers from lens creep. Gently shake it and see if the lens extends. It probably will. This isn't a huge deal, but it's like shooting a musket downhill. It can easily slip after you achieve focus.

Thank you. bw!

That's a pretty fair price for it if it's in good shape. It's not a steal, but you're not being robbed either. I count myself lucky for having gotten one for under $180 a while back.

Noisy enough to hear in video shot with the built-in mike.

Thanks! Shot in Manual, 70mm, ISO 100, F/5, 1/160. Little sharpening and saturation boost in PS Elements.

I just got this lens for a late Fathers Day present, and my wife just picked me up a T2I as a birthday present. So it was not only my first time shooting with them, but also my first attempt at M. I've had a Rebel XT since 2006 but never learned how to use it. Now I have an itch to learn how and this came from my first attempt (w/ just minor post)
