Grip with extra batteries should cost under $100. Then another $200 for filter maybe.

Put the 300 dollars in the Stock market! Save it!

Don't let it burn a hole in your pocket.

Cheers,

David

If you are not sure what to buy you obviously don't "badly need" anything at present. So why not hang on to the money until you think: "Gee, I could have taken that photo better if I'd had "this""

Any other approach will let you end up with a white elephant.....

I'd look for a "mid length" prime 50 to 80mm (maybe a 50 or 60 macro?)

Buy pretty prints and frames for your photos. Some business cards maybe. ;)
Other wise, save it until you can get some REALLY cool stuff!

Well, with that, what do you feel like you're missing? What do you want to be able to do that you currently can't?

If you can't answer that question, or answer that there's nothing you feel like you need to be able to do that you can't already, then save the money until you really need it.

If you already know what you need then you probably wouldn't be coming here to ask this question, but in that event, spend it on what you need or, if you don't have enough, save it until you do.

Honestly, if $300 is a big pile of money to you then you shouldn't be looking to spend it frivolously. The fact that so many do is why the economy's in such bad shape right now (do you really think so many people would be in debt so badly if they scrimped and saved instead of spending at the first opportunity?).
