What is worse ??

Waiting for FedEx to deliver your new 7D or waiting for the new battery to charge ? I would have thought the battery would have at least a partial charge..... At least I hope that is why the camera won't turn on...;-}

Fed Ex, definitely. At least now you can put the camera on your pillow while you sleep.

Your battery should have some charge? It definitely shouldn't be completely flat. If it is completely flat your battery is probably toast.

Waiting for Fedex. Knowing that you have the camera is way better then not knowing where your camera is.

I hate waiting for Fed Ex. I never know when they're coming and it's a sit around all day waiting.

Well, I found out what is worse. 7D is DOA. Put fully charged battery in and nothing. Totally dead. Tech Support walked me thru things and declared it broken. I am now waiting for a replacement being shipped free overnight FedEx. I have to box up the dead body and send it back to Canon. Kinda pissed off but this kind of thing can happen....but why me !!!!

Now that sucks...

Not only you. Bought one of those outside lights that has a sensor to turn the lights on if someone comes near it. Wired and mounted it yesterday-didn't work. Rechecked wiring his AM, all OK, checked bulbs-both new bulbs I bought yesterday did not work (several packages at the store had rattling glass sound in them, made sure the package I bought didn't rattle). Wife exchanged for new bulbs today, checked them before installing, bulbs were good-light still doesn't work. Calling 800 Tech line tomorrow.

Don't feel too bad. When I finally got my paws on a MkIII, I got a bum battery charger so my brand new camera spent a couple days as a paperweight.

Thanks to all for the words of encouragement. Canon customer support has been great and are shipping a replacement via overnight FedEx and they are paying for the return of the DOA camera. I think that is about the best I could hope for. I wonder how well they check refurbished items before they ship them. Apparently not very well. I should have the replacement tomorrow. Another waiting game.

Waiting for FedEX is def worse, at least once it comes u can marvel at it once the battery is charging.

when you never know when FEDex will show up - when waiting on my 50D I was the LAST Delivery of the day! Only took an hour for my battery to charge and I was good to go.

so sorry about the dead 7D. I had gotten a 1D from Adorama and it died within 24 hours, so yeah unfortunately those things do happen. You expect it less tho on a refurb'd camera.... Hope the next one works perfect.
