Thanks. The fireworks gave me a perfect opportunity to use this lens, which I hadn't been using much lately. Also bumped this thread which has had far too few posts.

Did some bee close-ups this past weekend. These are at or near MFD using Live View with the camera held as far away from me as the strap around my neck would allow. Nose of lens is about 3.5" from bumblebee. All on a 7D

How wide is this thing anyway?

Since planes are my primary subject, I wandered down to the local General-Aviation airport and wandered around the ramp as the sun was setting.

8mm. Adobe LPC applied in LR 3 to remove a noticeably curved horizon. Straightened. Cropped.
