Used my kacey dish with AB800 for the 2nd time. Outdoors and I was surprised to get darker bg with AB800 (full power). Sun from camera right as rim/hair light.

Shooting with glasses was hard as it my first time doing so. Kept getting those big reflections of the BD in both eyes.

Bobby you took this with f/4.5, did you PP the background to make it all go?

Both are taken with a generic BD and a grid. :)

I had 3 stop ND filter on the lens. BG was some trees with sun coming in from the side so beauty dish up close made the bg disappear. Can't do this in direct sun at the back. I think I would need more like 1000ws.

Thanks. Around 6:30pm. Like I mentioned I cheated as bg is trees which darkened. No way I could do it with bright bg.

BTW - This was at the end of the shoot. It was a hot day (for us in SF bay area, 80+ is hot) and the model fainted. Had to help pick her up and get into the car. Lucky her BF was there.

Wait - was this your beach shoot? How'd it go other than the fainting?

"Hot"... it's cranking around 95 right now, but the humidity is bringing it to 105. Yay.

Nice shot! I love the natural feel I get from this picture. Your work is one I always check out and is always different. Do you prefer the Mola over other dishes or is it pretty much the same across the board?

I think I prefer my AlienBees dish actually. Though the mola seems to be more directional. I just use the Mola cause it makes me feel fancy :-p

And thank you :-)
