So what the hell is going on in Elinchrom land? Yeah, we got the 150cm IDO, which appears to be a flop. But nothing else? Seems rather quiet. I'm hoping to hear about a new awesome kickass Ranger Pack soon...

Sigh. I hate waiting. I mean we saw the heads already, what's up with the packs?

^^ AWESOME shot... my only gripe would be the mountain top around her head, but its blurred enough that it isn't too distracting...

only having the 580s I guess I can't complain of its recycle times haha.. nothing else to compare it to!!
Though I've found I can usually get 3 shots w/ flash in a row if necessary (not a 10fps, though) So, for most purposes its instant recycle. (2 secs for me is instant :) )

Ahhhh OK Full pop is pretty slow for me on a speed light. I am spoiled by the strobes

Might be easier to get service on the dlites in Europe.

Possibly consistent color across the power range.

and this

you posted a link to a 1D not a 1Ds .. just hoping you notice that. IMO, 900 aint a good price for a 1D2 :(

Ahhh Thanks for catching that. :(

I am sending two out and giving one away. That will leave me with one.

Yes that's something that iv been pondering as well, do strobes break easily in general ? Or are some brands more prone to fail then others ? (in this instance AB vs D-lites)

I posted hello introduction in the official thread, but i can't hurt to post it here i guess.

Im Roger from Prague and I'm a newbie especially when it comes to lighting gear.

Thanx!

welcome Roger, i would get a D-lite, this is the eli thread you know we don't advocate AB here ;)

Aaron save that for the stuff for the other threads, we're pros here, we analyze what we should have done enough on our own ;)

well honestly my other gripe about the image is that it doesn't have NEARLY enough bokeh.... and he could have at least gotten a lower angle so there would be a little bit of sun flare in there....
