Not one of the traditional cute portraits of a kid but I love this expression on my nephew's face. He got caught in a pickle at third base and basically belly flopped back to the base and this was the look he gave me immediately after he landed. I think it's a cross between sheer terror and "am I safe?" I know the shot looks a little washed out but that is from all the dust that kicked up when he hit the ground.

Thanks everyone. I know I'm biased because it's my nephew but that expression just cracks me up, not one you usually see at a baseball game. The little guy was just so worried if he was safe or not!

That's what I was thinking too! I wish I could have framed the shot better but it was one of those spur of the moment things and I was right on the fence with my 70-200 and he was at third base, not quite enough distance. But I got the expression which I thought was more important on that one.

I know, it would have been so much better with the base and his hands in there. One of those "I almost had it" photography moments. Just like when the coach or ref steps right in front of me during a play!
