You can install firmware 1.1.0 on a 60D which has any previous version of the firmware. You can see what is in this version by clicking on the firmware download link. This version also includes fixes in previous versions. There are 2 items listed for version 1.1.0: "1. Fixes a phenomenon where the wireless built-in flash settings are reset to defaults when the battery is removed from the camera. 2. Fixes an intermittent phenomenon where image-rotation information is not recognized correctly when shooting with the camera in the vertical position depending on the timing of the shutter release." But there are probably other changes too (Canon says these are 'some' of the changes.)

I think upgrading the firmware is completely safe, provided you follow the directions (mainly: don't use an almost-dead battery, don't use a bad SD card, and don't touch the camera while it is updating). On the other hand, I've upgraded twice and never noticed any differences.

Saw this, in the other thread. Really like the composition. First one, posted with this, was with extended exposure handheld?

if you're talking about the man looking at his point and shoot LOL it was hand held with a slow shutter speed. it was a totally botched shot.

the firmware is kinda Operating System of the camera. It's like the windows 7 or MacOS Lion.

Updates are mainly some fixes of the current or previous version.

I just updated mine yesterday and it works just fine.

cheers!

Guyz,
does any of you 60d brada own an LCD viewfinder? How does it work with our articulated screen? If you do have, please give me the link of where you bought it. thanks.

Viewing images on the LCD on a bright sunny day is a pain, you know that.

i used one for some video footage recently... I dont know if its honestly needed for photographs as live view AF is just sucky to use. Manual AF maybe I could see use for it. In video use its only if your using a shoulder syatem. Definately make sure you need it before you drop coin on it. My personal wasted purchase my tripod and head setup. I think Ive used it maybe 5 times in a year since Ive owned it. I did this thing called hiking once with it and realized I enjoyed working in city with females rather than in the woods with wildlife. Alot less work involved LOL.....

So, for ****s and grins I decided to test my exposure on the fly. It's been 99 deg outside every day, with 90% humidity, for the past week. After work, the last thing I want to do is hang out in the heat. And, before you desert people rag on me... I grew up in Las Vegas and went to college in West Texas.... I know what DRY heat is. Anywho, this is all I have for inside shots. The lenses I have kinda suck for indoorsy stuff.

nothing wrong with Sheets and giggles shots. i think those shots help me see things in different ways that i'm guessing helps with my picture takings. i grew up in San Anton so it was humid heat for me now i'm in dry heat land NM.
