It finally stopped raining at the weekend and I was able to have my first proper play with this lens, testing it on a friends new puppy :D It performed very well and I've got loads more shots to sort through, but these are a couple of early ones.

I really want to use this lens for portraits too, when does it loose 2.8? what is the bokeh like at 50-70 f4 for portraits?

I keep thinking that I might have made a mistake going cheap on the upgrade from my kit lens, and that there are better lenses out there than the 17-70, but then I use it and I do love the results from this inexpensive glass.

Just finally got it back from focus calibration yesterday :) very, very happy with it now. Haven't really had much of a chance to really use it yet, but played around w/ it just a bit.
