hi guys n gals, been thinking of a few lenses to get - at the moment i have a 600d and 60mm macro 2.8 - while this is a beautiful lens to work with i kinda miss having a longer lens and slightly wider..
currently only take portraits (and product photog - hence having the macro) but wanting to get an L lens for build quality/future investment down the track.
finding it hard to find information bout it for portraits since everyone keeps saying its not wide enough.. so my questions are;
1. does the 24-105L IS have a good enough depth of field to create a good portrait at the long end?
2. what would the quality of images be compared to the 60mm macro (very sharp lens)
3. and is this an ideal purchase? i found that it can be bought online for approx 1k AUD- was looking at 30mm sigma but sells for round 500 and worried bout focus issues
4. would a sigma 30mm 1.4 and canon 85mm 1.8 be better alternatives?
