By far my sharpest lens, but not my favorite of focal lengths on a crop. I'd love to see what this would look like on a FF or even 1.3x body.....

both @1.8

Great shots indeed bohdank. specially the 1st one.

I'm with bemerick tho, I think 6400ISO is a bit too much

The lighting was always changing. What you see is as good as it got. I have shots that were well underexposed at shutter speeds in the 1/250s range and F1.4 (24L)

Since ISO is the slowest to change of all settings I creep it up as needed and don't usually bring it back down. It's just easier to judge exposure dark/bright with less variables. I shoot in M since any other mode is pure folly under typical concert lighting.

I learned a long time ago that shooting a moving performer you need to keep shutter speeds up. In these shots I could have gone slower but that means fiddling with ISO. Faster to change aperture/shutter.

Bohdan - I may be, and probably am, completely wrong.

agreed, it's super long on a crop. Once I got my 5D2 it's much more usable.

I nearly sold this lens a month ago and now that I'm outside with the kids more it's my most used lens! Glad I never got a PM back from the first in line to buy it!

Can't decide if I went too far with the eyes in this one.

Should be good for some automotive racing shots though!

You know, I have really become a fan of this length on the crop. I love candid shots though. With this I feel that I'm not all up in someone's face. Obviously it is not usable indoors unless you live in a mansion!
