Looks sturdy enough to me. It's likely the stand would fall over before the flash would dislodge.

Aug 01, 2011 11:16 | #22 Well the good people here were correct. I almost dropped my flash so I added another mod. I purchased these from Flash Zebra.  It will work in either horizontal or vertical orientation.  Looks good with the cybersync after doing that mini jack mod. I purchased the mini jack adapters from the Zebra.  Image Editing OK

Aug 01, 2011 18:35 | #24 I'm not sure. I wonder of the experts here would know if it is optimal to place it vertical for veritcal portraits, horizontal for horizontal or it makes no difference at all. Certainly easier to get at when manually adjusting output. Image Editing OK
