I've done it. I thought it looked cool. It didn't hurt the camera. I wasn't embarrassed of the model or trying to be 'kewl', just liked it. Who gives a sh*t?! Some people like to wear shirts with 'Ed Hardy' spelled out across it, some don't. Some people love to show off their Canon gear, other's don't. I think it's pretty funny how self-righteous and judgemental some people are acting about it.

We apologize for having a camera-related discussion on a camera message board...you're right, we should just all do our own thing, let others do theirs and keep this whole bothersome chatter/discussion thing to a minimum...

You realize, don't you, that you just contradicted yourself? "...it looks a hell of a lot sexier" contradicts "I'd rather nobody notice me."

I would think putting black tape on it would make the camera more noticeable too .

I'm not against the discussion, just the petty judgements.

That's the problem in this thread there has been very little of Camera - Related conversations, Just mostly a lot bickering and a lot judgmental statements from both sides as well .

I'm not reading through 11 pages of jargon... I've seen people do it (and done it myself) overseas in dangerous and/or impoverished areas to minimize attention.

Bollocks!!

I often hang with photographers both professional and amateur, locals and expats,,and I've never seen anyone tape up their camera's logos (except for that crazy Frenchman).

I've taken photography groups to some of the most remote areas in Laos, some of the most impoverished regions in SE Asia. Never once have I seen anyone tape up their logos.

Tapng up logos doesn't minimise attention. Just the fact you being in these regions, being a foreigner gets enough attention. Having a camera drapped over your shoulder is irrelevant.

I've spoken to his guy a few time in the past.. He can be a moody sh!te..Some days he's OK, other days a bit arrogant..'spose I'm just tolerant of people.

Thats ok if you know him and he a bit arrogant that way, but even my friends still ask me if they can light up a cigarette I think it's called having good "Manners"

Hmmm... but I seem to enjoy using my Canon Crumpler Industry Disgrace with a huge "EOS" & "Canon" logos on it. :)

I'm surprised the comment against the French hasn't gotten any backlash...

when you have a Rebel you certainly want to draw as much attention to yourself as possible and let people know what you've got...I'm also a fan of base model Honda Civics with massive vinyls on them advertising their Honda-ness :D

Hey now...the first night I had my 1D I took it to bed...even now when I travel, the camera sleeps with me...usually use the camera bag as a pillow...it's uncomfortable, but I sleep well knowing it's not getting stolen haha
