Marks on photos

A co-worker brought this to me today asking what was causing the marks on his pictures. He is using a 30D with a cheaper Canon zoom lens. I have my opinion but figured there are people with more experience than me out there.

HTTP response: 404 | MIME changed to 'image/gif' | Byte size: ZERO | PHOTOBUCKET ERROR IMAGE

Gripped 30D, Gripped 7D, G9, 24-70L F2.8, 100-400L F4.5-5.6, 50mm 1.8, 18-135mm 3.5-4.6, 430EXII and a whole bunch of other stuff.
I'm no Jay Beckman but I did sleep at a Holiday Inn last night.

Dust. Your friend needs to clean his sensor or at least take a rocket blower to it.
