With a 14mm lens, at f8 the hyperfocal distance is 2.73ft. Your depth of field goes from 1.62 ft to infinity. It is hard to miss focus like that.
I suggest you read about it because chances are that even for your AF UWA you want to set it to manual focus and use hyperfocal distance. Understanding this concept will let you take full advantage of the optics of your lens. You are wasting a lot of DOF by focusing on an object that is more than a few feet away.
Hi juanpafer - I shoot at f2.8 a lot, so focus is critical at an event. I never stop down to f8. This approach would work for landscapes and street, but at a wedding I need every stop I can get.
