hey guys, i just got a 60d and for some reason, the battery doesnt hold its charge at all...any of you guys have this problem?

No, my 60D battery lasts for-ev-er.

Is it a Canon battery and Canon charger? New or used? Are you letting it charge until the green light blinks? About how many shots are you getting, and are you using the onboard flash and/or live view (which uses more power)? When you put the newly charged battery into the camera, use the menu Setup-3, Battery info - what does it say? "Remaining cap." should be 100% and Recharge Performance 3 green boxes.

it seems like my canon batteries last a long time too.

picture from my last post removed to keep the clutter to a min.

any thoughts on how to get the little bugger more in focus and take the focus off the stem so much? i am handholding a 50mm 1.8.

i had the focus center focus point squarely on the spider and not on the branch, might it be a focusing issue with the lens or operator error? lol

i would try to focus manually with the live view. of maybe use a smaller aperture to get a deeper DOF, that or it might be time to save for a macro lens. also try maybe to get the focus box on the view finder to be half on the dark spider and half on the lighter stem, because i think the contrast will help the focus.

I had the same issue, with the mating beetles. The dragonfly photo took me roughly 30 exposures to nail the focus. I had a lot of camera shake due to too much coffee. In the end, I decided to up my ISO to give me more shutter speed. That helped me in that situation, a great deal.
