haha...
yea if there were really no budget limit, i'd just get all of em. =)

just thought it'd be fun to hear from people on this forum what they would choose from that list.
i already have a lot of the ones on the list, and some of them i'm thinking of trading towards. but i dont want to have that many lenses.
i use my 35L the most with the 7d...

but anyways, i appreciate all the suggestions/ideas so far. i'm sure most of you guys have been shooting seriously longer than i have, so i enjoy reading the comments.

i'd go

sigma 8-16mm
canon 17-55IS
sigma 30mm f1.4
canon 100mmL macro
sigma 120-300 f2.8 OS

that'd be nice to have....i'm nowhere near that with what i currently have though :)

So, someone gives me an open check :D
No point to get 7D. I'll go for 1Ds Mark III.
Then the 6 lenses:
85L II; 200L f/2; 400mm f/2.8L IS II and TS-17 from Canon.
Makro-Planar T* 100mm f/2 ZE & Distagon T* 21mm f/2.8 ZE by Zeiss.

Ok, I have 85L II already; Anyone kindly enough to send me the rest, please :)

Canon 5D3 + Zoom (EF 17-40L, 24-105L & 28-300L, 100-400L II) & Prime (24L II, 85L II, 100L, 135L & 200 f/2.8L II; Zeiss 1,4/35)
Sony α7r + Zeiss 1,8/55 FE
Nikon Coolpix A; Nikon F3 & F100 + Zeiss 1,4/50

i love my 7d right now... i will eventually go full frame... but i'm gonna probably wait til a mk3 comes out for the 5d.
for now... 7d is working out just fine for me.

the Zeiss stuff looks great... and the images look awesome... but i suck at manual focus. i guess i need to practice more. =)

As long as sugar daddy or mummy pay for the lenses, I'll not settle without few Zeiss ;)

ok, i kind of hate asking this, cuz ultimately it'll come down to what i'm planning on shooting the most and what i'm most comfortable with....
that being said, indulge me... if you had no budget limit, and you had this list of lenses to choose from, what 5~6 Lenses would you choose?
i'll start from wide to tele...

Canon EFs 10-22
Tokina 11-16
Canon 16-35mm L II
Canon 24-70L
Canon 24L II
Canon 35L
Canon 50L
Sigma 50 1.4
Sigma 85 1.4
Canon 70-200 2.8 IS
Canon 100L Macro IS
Canon 135L

My current crop setup is:
10-22
17-55 ('cause I HATE the 24-70L, especially on a crop)
Sigma 30 1.4
50L (Sigma 50 would do me fine too)
85 1.8 (it's too good to NOT have)
135L

There. 6 lenses. I don't find that there is anything else I need. Though my sports and wildlife shooting is very limited, so I don't need crazy reach. When I am shooting overseas, all I take is the 10-22, 30, 50, and 85 and I still consider it complete.

canon 10-22
canon 17-55
canon 70-200 mk2
want to add either 24mm mk2 or the 35mm.

this works well for me.

This - but with the 100 macro instead of the 135.

My 6 lens lineup for the 7D works well for me, although I do admit to stealing my wife's Tamron 17-50 non-VC every once in a while. :)

Sigma 8-16mm
Canon 35L
Canon 70-200 2.8L MKII
Canon 28-300L
Canon 15-85
Canon 400 5.6L

If a 1D MKV comes out and I can find a MKIV for a decent price, I figure I'll keep the same lenses with the exception of trading out the 8-16mm for a Sigma 12-24mm, and the Canon 15-85 for either a 24-105L or a 24-70L.

Sigma 85 1.4
Canon 70-200 2.8 IS
Canon 100L Macro IS
Canon 135L

For my money, if I had to start all over again, I'd probably buy the following:
Canon EFs 10-22
Canon 24-70L
Canon 35L
Canon 50mm f/1.4 (Can't justify paying three to five times as much for the L version and don't trust Sigma)
Canon 70-200 2.8 IS
Canon 85mm f/1.8 (Can't justify the cost of the L version and still don't trust Sigma
Canon 100 Macro (Again, can't justify the higher cost of the L version)
Canon 135L

Still learning, just not shooting as much as I'd like
Bodies: 7D, 5D Mark II
Lenses: 16-35L II, 24-70L, 70-200L 2.8 IS, 50 1.4
Other: GT2331 tripod, Acratech GV2 head, 580EXII, 430EXII(x4), PocketWizard TT1 transmitter and FlexTT5 transceivers along with a growing assortment of light modifiers.
