The 24-85mm is an f/3.5-5.6. Nice lens, my son is using it on my older XTi but is ~ $350 - $400

During the bing cashback, they were some good deals to be had, and I stocked up on some lenses.
35 1.4, 720 final cost, used.
sigma 50 1.4, 350 new
sigma 150 2.8 macro 350 used.
canon 580 exII 340 brand new.
canon 70-200 f4IS, 800 refurbished through adorama.
canon 15 fisheye, 485 brand new.
I also got the most insane deal for my brother, since I already had a 5d2. Got him a brand new 5d2 with 24-105 for final cost of 2500. then I sold his 24-105 for him and netted 875, so the body ended up costing him 1600

I believe it was something like:
Brand new Canon 17-55 2.8 $735
" " " 580exII $286

On the Bing cashback several years ago...I miss those days. Reputable dealer also.

I'd jump at that too.

Jumped. Just had to jump a bit higher.

Yesterday I got one for $317 plus 20 shipping, bogus I know....not brand new but looks perfect box and all.
I'm happy at $337 shipped.

It's not from fleabay but I've ordered a used 135mm f/2.8 SF off amazon for £200.
Got my 400mm f/5.6 from ebay for just over £100 posted. Money well spent in my opinion.

Never really got a good deal on lens from ebay; partly because I never tried. Here is a personal tip which I used to use to buy sneakers and I usually got really good deals. Search for canon or canon lens etc, narrow the search to lens from the left categories tab and then sort by newly listed and also narrow it to Buy it Now only. I used to make a tab on my browser with this search enabled so every time I would click it, it would give me the refreshed results. I would refresh throughout the day but it was a business for me. Best of luck!
