Shooting a wedding this weekend, and some big changes in my schedule left me really bound up in trying to get the proofs back to the bride and groom. I thought this might be an ideal time to try one of the new 3rd party post services.
Did some research, and decided to give Vital Edit a try. My decision was solely based on the fact that they were the simpliest to engage as far as uploads, services, etc.
They offer a 20 image test, which is where I started. I did a pre wedding shoot with the couple, so I took my top 20 images from that shoot and sent them over. I had already delivered these, so I knew exactly where I wanted to wind up results wise.
Registration was simple, and they ask a few questions about your preferences. Then you upload the images.
Upload was simple, and I got a message daily from them letting me know how my job was progressing. Very smooth.
And finally, got the test images back. And honestly, it was spooky -- they were almost dead on what I delivered. Some were better -- none were "worse."
I plan to engage them on this wedding, and see how a big job goes. Will report back soon.
