I know this is a photography forum but I'm a little stumped on trying to figure out what this is. I about touched the thing on accident. The body was about an inch long.

PHOTOBUCKET EMBEDDING IS DISABLED BY THIS MEMBER.
Photobucket sends ads instead of embedding photos from their free galleries.

Yep, never seen one in person, I would be freaked out a bit. Cool shot of something I don't think I have seen here before.

Indeed a house centipede...these things are one of the few insects I don't enjoy having in my place! Although they are known to be good at keeping a lot of the other pests away by eating them. I'd prefer small spiders to that though. That and cockroaches.

I saw it as I was on my way to work, all I had was my cell phone. I was gonna get a better pic of it when I got home but it was gone.

I once lived in a place with plenty of them around. They can be 2 inches big, dark brown, or smaller and stripy like the one photographed. You took a really beautiful photo, but I still cannot look at the photo for any amount of time (overwhelmed by fear even after 10 years) ...
