These were all shot in the middle of July and just getting around to uploading some more. A series of shots of a festive fruit fly and also some insect portraits w/ black background. Large size and more on my flickr. Thanks for any comments and help! :)

gorgeous fly! my friend Alain found one similar to that last time on the field, but I failed to get a nice shot of it.

Love the eyes and the wings on these little guys!

I've taken a lot of grasshopper pics, that one up there is awesome!!!!
That Fruit Fly is dandy as well! Nice series!

Thanks guys! Martin, I love this type of fruit fly. It was pretty easy to photograph since it was walking around the milkweed plant for a while.

@ebert It's a candy-striped leafhopper. Another name is rhododendron leafhopper. Thanks for the nice comment!
