Thanks guys for all the feedback! I might be going towards no screen protector!

I don't think I'd bother... the Canon TFT screen cover does a pretty good job and if it ever got really badly scratched would be pretty cheap to replace. see part number CB3-4948

It is very cheap to replace - I'd image I have to take it to CPS to replace it. Do you know how much the whole job would be?

It's easily done, so you can do it yourself.

I've never had to do one myself, but as I understand it you just heat the old one a bit with hot air from a hairdryer, to loosen the glue, then pop it off with a suction cup. Then it is a simple job of sticking the new one on in it's place.

I keep a GGS on mine. Saw the style in the op but don't care for the eyepiece part of it. As far as do or don't, I worked hard to get what I have and want to keep it as nice for as long as is possible. So, put me in the vote yes column.

I have one of these protectors on mine, too. It introduces some glare issues in bright outdoor light.

I like the eyepiece protector, actually. I get the interior eyepiece of an unprotected camera so dusty and the GGS cover is flat and very easy to keep clean.

It also helps keep the camera clean and minty until the 5D3 comes out and I can afford to upgrade!

Sounds risky! Hahah anyone actually had this procedure done?

Hey mco_970, are you currently using the GGS with the eyepiece protector? or just the glass for the lcd?

Yeah, I have the eye protector one on 5D2. T3i has a stick on one. On my 7D I had the stick on GGS. I didn't have one on my 1D3 and I put a big scratch on it, that sucked :p.

 That does suck! hahaha and exactly why I feel I should opt for one. Hmm do you like the one with the eyepiece better than the stick on one? Also, how's the fit - is it loose, etc - or does it sit tightly. The reason I ask is because I wouldn't want the screen protector to actually scratch the screen itself hahahah.

you can order a replacement from canon

if all else fails, there's always a number of third-party OEM parts suppliers, e.g.

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", 1D MK II converted for IR, and now an M5

Hey guys,
I'm in the market for a good LCD Screen Protector.
I've previously used GGS and ACMAXX screen protectors but I was wondering what you guys are using for your 5dmkii.

I saw this one on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com …m4aad8bfafc#ht_2993wt_951 (external link)

Does anyone have any feedback for this one?
Thanks!

Oh sweet!

I was trying to remember where I got the protector like that for my 7D. I love it for my 7D. I attach my LCD viewfinder too the protector so I don't have to actually "sticky" anything to the 7D. I need to get one for my 5D mkii. THANKS!
