I will admit to what I tell my wife, oh about $1,500...... :)

I see you joined POTN in June 2011. I expect that 1500 to be 2x - 3x by next year. :-P

Only about $1500 for me, but that's bound to go up.

This thread could be fun as a poll.

Nah, it wouldn't be effective. Because I, for one, have risen since I've last posted. It was <$2000.
Now it's almost $3,000... Yeah... Haha.

Around $1,500 or so, give or take a hundred. Don't think I'll be spending any more for the moment since I really have no idea how to even use the stuff I have now. n00b, yes, I know.

You gotta justify it by considering the fair market value of the gear you have. Spending, say, $5,000 on camera gear might sound insane, but if you could easily sell it all for $4,500 (assuming you bought right, of course), then there isn't much risk in it.

It's a good arguement to use with the wife, let her know that if things get tight and you need the cash, you can liquidate your gear and have instant cash. :)

A lot more than what I planned to.

I was originally planned to have only one body and one lens, but that plan quickly deflated after I joined this site......

POTN is a good place to discuss a subject like that...my friends have hard time understanding how a filter can cost as much as their PowerShot.
