OK, I think this is a male American Redstart -sound right?

And then this one showed up nearby - I was thinking female Redstart, but then she turned around and showed her stripes, so I changed my mind to Least or Alder Flycatcher - what do you think?

And then a couple of bushes over, this guy/gal showed up, I checked my books and haven't a clue. Not the best shot but he was jumping all over the place...;) Maybe a female Common Yellowthroat? Man, this is tough!

Excellent shots, especially the flycatcher.
You're right on both the warblers, the Empidonax Flycatcher is pretty difficutl to ID (could be Willow, Alder or Least). You'd have to judge either by the behavior of your bird, the habitat it was found in, and the most reliable ID is its song. If you heard your bird vocalizing look up the songs of these species and compare them.
Good luck.

That looks like an American Restart to me, but what do I know.
Ian, you have gotten yourself a couple of nice photos of the Flycatcher. Funny, Al (CDMOOOSE) posted an id question about the same species earlier. I posted what I thought was an Alder back in June, but then chickened out. The song seemed like the Adler, but I heard it, saw the bird and it was quiet. Since Alders are not as common as Leasts where this one was, I'm flummoxed!

Thanks for the comments, Lil. Al and I seem to following each other around. He got Flycatchers and then so did I, though I first thought they were something else. Then he posted 2 beauty shots of a female Chestnut Sided Warbler, and I got its mate ;). You'd think we were next-door neighbours :)
