Is 055XPROB and 494rc2 good combo ?

Chyea just like the title ... do you think it's good .... because i got the 055XPROB as the gift from my friends so now i need a ball head. what do you think?

If you can find $30 more you can get the popular 498rc2 head - it'll support more than 2x the weight of the 494.

Forget the 494 and get the Manfrotto 498RC2 ball head. There's a tremendous functional difference between them.

I was looking at the 494 before getting the 498 but ended up with the 498. I wanted to save a little bit but after looking at the specs, 498 was better. Supports more weight and has the ability to pan easier.

The 496 is not as sturdy as the 498 and it is missing the pan lock/release feature of the 498 which is extremely useful on a tripod.

Stick with the 498RC2 and you won't be sorry.
