really like #2 & #5. Don't know if #5 is the full frame, if so would like to see a crop to zoom in on the plane.

#3 would normally be called bad lighting but you managed to pull a special shot out of it. Very nice.

And then I looked at the rest on Flickr - more great ones, plus fireworks too!

Don't you hate it when someone puts a big orange tarp in the middle of an airshow? Don't sell yourself short, there are some pretty good shots in this bunch.

Thanks guys. I guess I was comparing my performance (and number of keepers) to other shows. I appreciate the comments!

The shot on the MiG 17 is a little cropped, but agreed, I could do a 16:9 crop on it, maybe letterbox it to really make it pop and try to eliminate some of the clutter in the photo. I really wanted to show how LOW it was. People in the crowd were like.. HOLY SH*T! He was doing a high speed banana pass at that altitude (or lack thereof) and we were like, oh boy...!

#3 was intentional. I had other photos where the sun wasn't so harsh and the photo was really washed out, so I went w/ a PP style where you intentionally shoot into the sun, and make the photo really warm and high contrast-y. I think it worked.

I was there shooting also. I got some good shots, but a lot of junk. Last year it was a great blue sky all day.

Yes, yes it was. This years announcer needed some help and I feel like there were less 'wow' moments in this year's show. I really enjoyed the Thunderbirds though.

These look good to me, & you get what you get at these shows.

Or you could crop most of the sky out. There's nothing sacred about the "standard" format, whatever that would be. There was 8X10" film, 11X14" film, 2-1/4 film,... Which was the standard?
This is why they make mats for pictures, so that you can crop the aspect ratio that best shows off the image when you put it into a standard frame.

Thanks guys!

Hopefully Monday I'll be able to get some unique shots, especially unique to this area. There's a little show and tell going on at a local base.
