These shots remind me of a great holiday, so as snaps they do their job, but do they look any good to anyone else? I am interested in composition, technique PP, anything that makes or breaks the pictures.

Critique and comments really appreciated.

Gradient filter or perhaps some post processing for #1 to give the sky a little deeper blue along with contrast.(I notice you have a little dust on your sensor-top left and right side smaller spec!) Overall between the pictures #2 is more dynamic but can also be improved with post processing.
The only thing that means is there is more fun to be had with your software for PP.

Thumbs up!

Thanks for the comments, and help Brady.

The spots in the top left are no longer there, but there are loads more elsewhere :(

I guess this needs to be sent off for a clean.

Grmphhh.

I like the light in #2 but the shots are not really spectcular... However that is a matter of taste.

It seems to be a generally accepted matter of taste with my photo's - they don't do much for anyone. Either subject matter or composition let me down, or failing that the technical aspect.

At least I can work on the techie stuff :)

Thanks for all the comments.

The sky looks pretty good but the foreground/bottom is too dark for my tastes.

Contrails do seem to detract from the pristine nature of the sky but in the right light they could be quite interesting. I don't think the light on these adds anything to the image.

Thanks very much for the detail, I really appreciate it.

I (unlike most, it seems ;) ) do find the vapour trails interesting, but given my location on that trip, they would always be there at sunrise, so I was pretty stuck (unless I cropped really heavily).

I may play with these and see what could be done in PP.

Thanks all.

Same here. It looks like the sky (clouds) were not very ideal for a sunrise photograph.
