Question for current 1D users, I have seen some awsome pictures from them and have a chance to snag one at a good price. Do you still consider this a good camera that used
Right still give a 20D/30D a run for its money.

I never had 1D but have 1DSMKI.
I like end result of 1DS better than xxD models.
Operation is little pain with "personal setting" compare to xxD model but I it does not bother me too much because of the result it produces.
Hope this helps.

Go for a troll through the 1D forum .I still prefer to use mine over my 400D but it depends what you require it to do, above 800iso it is abit film grainy, the batteries if good shoot 350-450 pics, no good for long exposures , prints A4 great and with a little pp you can print larger, dam heavy to cart about this is where I use my 400D, but for the price you get sharp well exposed photos ,great for sports and I also use mine for portraits,A1 build quality, weather proofing, tracking, speed, with a crap little LCD screen.

If you get one, get it because you want a good 'ol classic that takes excellent photos for the web or small wall prints, not because you want to compete with later technology.

The 20d and 30d used a very well regarded sensor with twice the pixels of the old 1d, but I have 16x20 enlargements from both (1d and 30d) that still get oohs and ahs and you can't tell what camera made them. However, if you put a 16x20 from a 1dsII beside them, the detail difference is noticeable.. :)

.... Got some cameras; got some glass ..... I just need one more of each.....
