I used to have two camera bodies and I really, really miss it. I'm hoping to pick up a backup body sometime soon and I'm really not sure what I should be shooting for. I currently have a 5D, and while it would be nice to get another one there are some things that I miss from the crop sensor - mainly focusing, frame rate, and the crop factor. I don't have one specific area of photography that I do. I've done weddings, portraits, landscapes, and sports. Most of my focus is on portraits now, but it's not only that. I'm thinking that my max price range is around $1,200 so the cameras I was considering are: 5d, 7d, 1dmkii, 1dmkiin, and the 40d/50d/60d.
So that pretty much leaves it wide open...My biggest deciding factor is do the 1dmkii and 1dmkiin keep up with the newer cameras like the 7d/40d/50d/60d? I'm really interested in getting the high frame rate and awesome focus of the 1d series, but is the 7d on par with the older 1d's because it's newer?
If the 1dmkii isn't what going to do for me what I need it to, I know I can make the choice between the 40d/50d/60d/7d - that will basically come down to budget. I'm really hoping the 1d will live up to my expectations though. Any thoughts?
