Gyrfalcon

Hi all

Here are a few shots of Gyrfalcons. I've been longing to photograph this species for many years and finally this summer I got the opportunity I had been waiting for. The weather might have been better but I tried to make the most of it. Gyrfalcons are protected by law in Iceland so you need a special permit from the government to photograph them during the breeding season.

That looks like some tricky terrain, how was the footing?

Thats the closest im ever going to get to one of these, stunning images of a top predator.
