What do your business cards look like?

Here's my first take at a business card.

IMAGE NOT FOUND
Byte size: ZERO | Content warning: NOT AN IMAGE

I used the template from vistaprint just for the guide lines. Then created the card as a single image file in PSP. The rear of the card has various types of photography I'm interested in, my name and site address again, and a QR code to go to the site.

Not sure why it displays so large, tho...

Later,
Brian

It's because your file is 1062 x 615.

If you want some C&C, I looks dated (drop shadows, pillow embossing and the film. Lose all of those....but that's my opinion. Not a fan of the fonts, especially your name.

FWIW, 5 years ago I included a film frame in my logo, but realized nobody uses film so I removed it.

I third Mike's comments. It does look dated.

I thank you all for the critique. I can definitely see what you're talking about. My next batch will get a more current look.

Thanks again!

Just curious, what is BR3?

Is this your business card? What's your name?

The BR3 graphic is okay, but the font you're using on the backside just doesn't fit. To me the font should be the same between the graphic BR3 and the BR#Photography text, or at least the BR3 part. Does that make sense?

BR3 is a play on my real name. Im a third. And the superscript 3 is the mathematical symbol for a number taken to the third power, or cubed. Hence the cubic logo. Do I expect many people to get that? Nope. But the logo will be used for other business endeavors as well, so I needed/wanted something universal and at the same time technological I guess I could say.

Yes, this would be my companies business card. I didnt want to put any names or contact info on this time around as I wanted to refer people to the website that Im currently building. Wanted the card to be more of a promotional handout in a sense rather than something people contact me directly with. Not only that but I will be working with other photographers who will be working under my company name and this way they can all hand out the same card.

And yes, originally I did have the logo and company name font the same but I just didnt like how the company name looked in the logo font. I have yet to play with any other fonts for the logo yet.

That's a nice logo, well thought out. Some logos don't have to mean anything to the viewer, but as long as it conveys a unique identity, and I think this does, pretty well.

You've gone for a minimalist sorta looks, so instead of the large BR3 cube on the image side, why not pick one of the background BR3 cubes and make it the contrast colour? That way you keep your minimalist look, the background pops out and people won't read the BG as RB3.

Also not too keen on the serif font with sans around, but that's personal opinion only.

I'm certainly no pro and I take photos for enjoyment, but a friend requested to use me for a product/promo shoot for his business, and have a business card available

What do people think?

There are some awesome cards on here! Mine are not up to par with everyone else, but first time I have made them and I'm willing to hear some CC.

Thanks

They're too blurry, people won't be able to contact you :)

jk, looks good, though I'm not a huge fan of selective coloring when the color is biege/yellow.

ha ha, Good point on them not contacting me

I'm also not usually a very big fan of selective coloring on most stuff, but for this photo I liked it and the couple did also. I plan on updating the cards soon.

Here is one that is not so blurry...
